Chelsea won the Taite Award (NZ's answer to the Mercury Prize) for her album, Everything Is Going To Be Alright. She was out of the country at the time (in New York) so was caught by surprise by a video phone call alerting to her to the win (which was then shown on the night). Fortunately her band were also on hand to pick up the award on her behalf. It is the first time Princess Chelsea has won a major award in her home country.
